When the House of Prayer Feels Like the World:

Image
✝️  A Servant’s Reflection  The house of God is meant to be a place of holiness, transformation, and refuge — a sanctuary where hearts are renewed and lives are changed. Yet, too often, the atmosphere within the church begins to resemble the world outside. When this happens, newcomers struggle to grow, and even seasoned believers can lose their focus.  It is a tragedy when God’s house is treated as if it were just another building. When people—especially those in leadership—forget that they are standing in a sacred space, they risk wounding the very souls who come searching for transformation. Instead of being welcomed into an atmosphere of love, humility, and grace, newcomers sometimes encounter the same pride, gossip, or harshness they thought they had left outside. When positions in the church become “titles” rather than callings, the work of the Lord begins to look like a job instead of service. Love Is A Seed

Love is a seed that, when planted in good soil, grows and sustains.

God first loved us by giving, and in doing so He set the standard for how we are meant to love and to be loved. His love is patient, steady, and life-giving — never forced and never harmful.

What God blesses does not come with sorrow attached. His love brings peace, not confusion; rest, not fear.

Allowing God to renew our hearts so that He may dwell within us is an act of spiritual self-love. Slowing down, becoming still, and listening within is also an act of spiritual self-love.

We cannot truly give love to others if we refuse to extend grace to ourselves.
When we begin to care for our own hearts, we create the capacity to love others with gentleness and sincerity.

Self-love, then, is not pride.
It is preparation.

It is tending the soil so that love can grow.

Scripture:

Ezekiel 36:26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you.

1 John 4:19 We love because He first loved us.

Affirmations:

My heart is being renewed gently.

I release rushing and choose patience.

Love is forming roots inside me.

I am learning to receive love safely.

I allow God to restore my capacity to love.
