Season Of Preparation
There are seasons in life when growth requires something very difficult from us — letting go.
If we do not release certain people, places, habits, or things, there will be no room for the new. Growth cannot fully happen in a space that is overcrowded with what no longer belongs there. Sometimes we pray for blessings, opportunities, and transformation, yet unknowingly hold on to the very things that block them from entering our lives.
There is a truth many of us must face: we cannot receive new wine in old wineskins. Life requires movement, healing, and sometimes separation from what once felt comfortable.
This may very well be a season where something new is trying to spring up in your life. New clarity. New peace. New opportunities. New direction.
But the question we must ask ourselves honestly is:
Are we ready for it?
Have we done the inner work required to receive what we have been asking for? Have we cleared the emotional, spiritual, and mental space needed for growth?
Letting go is not always easy. In fact, it can feel frightening. The unknown often brings uncertainty, and our minds naturally want to cling to what is familiar — even when it no longer serves us.
However, it is important to pause and weigh the options.
Ask yourself:
-
Am I truly content with my life the way it is?
-
Am I growing, healing, and moving forward?
-
Or am I remaining in the same patterns out of comfort or fear?
If we are honest with ourselves and the answer is no, then change becomes necessary.
Growth requires courage. It requires trusting God, trusting the process, and believing that what is ahead of you may be greater than what you are holding onto.
Sometimes letting go is not loss — it is preparation.
Preparation for peace.
Preparation for healing.
Preparation for purpose.
Preparation for the blessings meant for your life.
When we release what no longer belongs in our season, we make space for what does.
So if you find yourself in a moment where life is asking you to release something, consider that it may not be the end of something good — it may be the beginning of something better.
Your willingness to let go could be the very thing that allows the new to finally enter.
Become Intentional
*When a person has lost a lot — relationships, stability, opportunities, or even parts of themselves — something begins to happen subconsciously. We start holding tightly to people, places, and things because somewhere deep within us we fear losing again.
Even when those things no longer serve a healthy purpose in our lives, they can still feel familiar. And familiarity can feel safer than the unknown.
In many ways, it becomes a protective response.
Scriptures:
Isaiah 43:19 See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
Affirmations:
I release what no longer serves my growth.
I trust that God is guiding me into a new and better season.
