Choose Life: Dysfunction Can Be Healed

Image
Coming from extreme dysfunction your perspective can be somewhat warped (bent or twisted out of its true shape). Not because there is something wrong with you, but because dysfunction has a way of teaching you things that were never meant to be normal. You learn to survive in environments that require constant adaptation. Over time, those adaptations can begin to feel like your identity. You may mistake chaos for love. You may confuse hypervigilance with wisdom. You may believe that carrying everyone else's burdens is your responsibility. You may think your worth is tied to what you do rather than who you are. When dysfunction is all you've known, it becomes the lens through which you view yourself, others, and the world around you. But it doesn't have to stay that way. Healing begins when you realize that you have a choice. A choice to question what you've always believed. A choice to challenge unhealthy patterns. A choice to stop normalizing what wounded y...

May Vigilance Reign

I heard a Word ..

  • Vigilant (adjective): Being watchful, alert, aware, and attentive
  • Vigilance (noun): The practice of staying alert and spiritually aware over time

It’s not fear-based watching… it’s intentional awareness with purpose.

  • Spiritual alertness — not being distracted or spiritually asleep
  • Discernment — recognizing what is from God vs. what isn’t
  • Guarding your heart and mind
  • Staying aligned with God’s voice, timing, and instruction
  •  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 1 Peter 5:8 Vigilance is not about being tense…
It’s about being awake, anchored, and led.

For this upcoming season or new month:

    • Guard your focus
      Not everything deserves your attention
    • Pay attention to patterns
What drains you? What brings peace?
    • Stay rooted in God daily
Prayer, scripture, stillness—not just when things feel off
    • Don’t ignore subtle nudges
That inner check or pause… honor it
    • Be mindful of environments and conversations
Not everything is aligned with where you're going
Vigilance is not about being tense…
It’s about being awake, anchored, and led.

God, help me to remain vigilant—aware of Your voice, protected in Your presence, and aligned with Your will. Let me not be distracted, but discerning.
