Inviting God In
I feel like I posted this before but if so, I need to post again... If I didn't post already make sure you read till the end.
For a long time, I didn’t understand that we live in both a spiritual and physical world. I thought spirituality was small and limited, and the physical was where “real life” happened. What I didn’t know back then was that the opposite is true — it’s the physical that’s limited, while the spiritual is eternal and unshakable.
I had heard about God, but I never really tried to know Him for myself. As I grew older, I still kept Him at a distance. He wasn’t first in my life. I thought I could handle things on my own, and so I never invited Him into my struggles, my decisions, or my pain.
And here’s what I’ve come to realize: God saw me all along. He knew where I was, what I was facing, and what I needed. But He didn’t step in — not because He didn’t care, but because He is who He is. He won’t force Himself where He isn’t welcomed. He is patient, gentle, and waiting.
That’s the beautiful part of who God is: He stands at the door and knocks. But it’s up to us to open the door.
Why the Invitation Matters
God doesn’t demand your trust; He waits for it. He doesn’t barge into your life; He responds when you call. When we choose to invite Him in, everything shifts. Burdens that felt unbearable become lighter. Problems that felt impossible gain new perspective. Peace replaces chaos.
This doesn’t mean life becomes easy or perfect. But it does mean you no longer walk alone. You no longer have to carry everything in your own strength.
A Call to Action
If you’re weary, if you’re struggling, if you’re searching — know this: God is waiting. He’s not far. He’s closer than you think, and He’s ready to move in your life the moment you ask Him to.
Scripture to Reflect On
“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with Me.” — Revelation 3:20
A Simple Prayer
God, I invite You into my heart and into every area of my life. I give You my burdens, my pain, my decisions, and my future. Thank You for waiting on me with love. Today, I open the door.
*You can be confident in the Most High God.. He is not a man that He should lie.. His Word never returns to Him void.. He has never lost a battle.. He will never fail..
👀
When I didn’t know God, I too thought spirituality wasn't important — but really, it’s the physical world that is limited. I didn’t realize that He was real and present all along. I heard about Him but never sought Him for myself. Even as an adult, I kept Him at a distance. He saw me, but I didn’t invite Him into my struggles. And because He’s a God of love, not force, He waited.
Now I understand: if you want God to move in your life, you must open the door. He is waiting for you to invite Him in, to bring Him your burdens, your pain, and your fears. When you do, He will step in and transform your life.
