Sometimes Pressing Pause Is Healing

One of the greatest lessons I've learned on this healing journey is that healing isn't always about moving constantly. Sometimes it's about knowing when to stop. I recently had to pause my 365 Days of Healing series because of a critical family emergency. Out of respect for my loved ones and their privacy, I won't be sharing the details. I simply ask for your prayers and understanding during this time. At first, I wanted to push through. I wanted to keep creating, encouraging, and showing up every day. But I realized something important: I cannot pour into others when my own mind, heart, and body need rest. For many of us, especially those who have lived in survival mode, we believe stopping means failing. We feel guilty for resting. We think we have to keep going no matter what. But that's not what healing is about. What Is Mental Health?

Mental health is a term used to describe the state of a persons mental or psychological condition, it refers to the emotional, psychological, and social well-being of a person.
Our mental health affects how we think, feel, and act, as well as how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices.

Good mental health is defined by:

You feel balanced and resilient most days

You can manage day-to-day stress

You maintain relationships and responsibilities

You can experience a range of emotions without being overwhelmed by them

Poor mental health doesn’t always mean a mental illness is present, but it can increase the risk. Common mental health conditions include anxiety disorders, depression, PTSD, and bipolar disorder, among others.

Maintaining mental health often requires:

Practicing self-care (like rest, nutrition, exercise)

Seeking help when needed (therapy, support groups, spiritual support)

Building positive relationships

Managing emotions and setting healthy boundaries
