Sometimes Pressing Pause Is Healing

One of the greatest lessons I've learned on this healing journey is that healing isn't always about moving constantly. Sometimes it's about knowing when to stop. I recently had to pause my 365 Days of Healing series because of a critical family emergency. Out of respect for my loved ones and their privacy, I won't be sharing the details. I simply ask for your prayers and understanding during this time. At first, I wanted to push through. I wanted to keep creating, encouraging, and showing up every day. But I realized something important: I cannot pour into others when my own mind, heart, and body need rest. For many of us, especially those who have lived in survival mode, we believe stopping means failing. We feel guilty for resting. We think we have to keep going no matter what. But that's not what healing is about. Healing teaches us to listen to our bodies, honor our emotions, and trust God enough to step away when life demands our attention elsewhere. This pa...

The Pause Power - Self-Awareness Matters

In life we are pulled in many directions — deadlines, expectations, responsibilities, and the constant hum of “keep going.” For many of us, it feels easier to push through than to step back. But the truth is this: pushing through without pause often causes more harm than good.

🌿 Self-Awareness Is the First Step

Self-awareness is more than knowing what you feel — it’s paying attention to the whispers of your mind, body, and spirit. It’s noticing when your shoulders are heavy or tight, when your thoughts feel cluttered, and may even be racing, or when your spirit longs for quiet. Too often, we ignore these signals until we reach a breaking point.

Choosing to pause is not weakness. It’s wisdom. A major power move.

It’s you saying, “I hear myself, and I matter enough to listen.”

⏸️ Your Pause May Look Different from Everyone else's.

For some, a pause may be ten minutes of deep breathing or sitting in silence. For others, it may mean unplugging for ten days, journaling, or retreating into prayer. And sometimes, it’s longer — weeks or months of intentional rest to heal and reset.

There is no “one-size-fits-all” pause. The important part is that you give yourself permission to step away and trust that you’ll know when it’s time to return.

⚖️ Pushing Through vs. Pausing

is like Ignoring Yourself vs. Paying Attention to what you need for you.

Oftentimes we force ourselves to push through exhaustion, grief, or overwhelm, we risk burnout, resentment, and deeper wounds. But when we pause — even briefly — we create space for restoration. That space allows clarity, healing, and renewed strength to rise.

Pausing doesn’t stop your growth; it protects it.

🌸 Giving Yourself Permission

Its ok to not be ok

You don’t have to earn the right to rest. You don’t have to justify your need for quiet. Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is breathe, reset, and simply be.

Whether it’s 10 minutes, 10 days, or more, honor the pause, honor your mind, body and soul. Trust that the world will not fall apart because you chose to care for yourself. And when you do return, you’ll return with clarity, strength, and peace.

✝️ Scripture

Matthew 11:28
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

🌿 Affirmation

I honor my body, mind, and spirit by giving myself permission to pause. Rest is holy, and I return stronger and renewed.
